vs Square Loyalty

Square Loyalty is the built-in points add-on for the Square ecosystem. If your store runs Square end to end, it's the low-friction option. If you sell on Shopify — as most independent supplement stores we meet do — it isn't really on the menu, and even inside Square the trade-offs are real.

02 — Fair is fair

Where Square Loyalty is a fine choice

Square Loyalty's strength is that it's right there: if Square is already your POS, loyalty turns on inside the checkout you own, earning happens automatically at the register, and the visit-based pricing is easy to start with. For a café or salon fully inside the Square ecosystem with no texting ambitions beyond Square Marketing, it's a sensible default — no integration project, one vendor, one dashboard.

03 — Where we win

Why supplement stores pick Eco Systems

The catch is the ecosystem boundary. Square Loyalty earns where Square processes — so if your store sells on Shopify (web store, POS, or both), Square Loyalty can't be your program. Eco Systems is Shopify-native: points on every online and POS order automatically, redemption inside checkout.

Beyond the ecosystem question, the differences are about what an independent supplement store needs that a horizontal add-on doesn't prioritize: a self-serve check-in kiosk in your brand on the counter (the founding store's live kiosk is on that page — go look), SMS with drip sending, quiet hours, and A2P registration filed for you rather than marketing sold as a separate product, and full white-labeling down to your own subdomain. And pricing is flat: $200/mo with 5,000 texts included, not a meter that climbs with your loyalty visits — the better your program does, the worse visit-scaled pricing gets.

One more structural note on cost. Visit-scaled pricing punishes the exact behavior a loyalty program exists to create: more check-ins, more redemptions, more member visits. Under a flat fee, a store that doubles its loyalty engagement pays the same $200; under visit-based tiers, success shows up on the invoice. Neither model is dishonest — but you should pick the one whose incentives point the same direction as yours. Ours only makes money if you stay, month to month, which is why there's no contract to hold you and the migration out is as clean as the migration in.
